NEW DELHI: Veteran Hindi actor Satish Shah (74), known for his comedic roles, has passed away. The news of his death was announced by filmmaker Ashok Pandit. He died at 2:30 pm today. Satish Shah was undergoing treatment for kidney problems. As his health deteriorated, Satish was shifted to Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai.

Born on June 25, 1951 in Mumbai, Satish Shah has a Kutch Gujarati background. Satish Shah graduated from Xavier's College and later joined the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune.

Satish made his film debut in 1978 with the film Arvind Desai Ki Ajeeb Dastaan. His major films include Hum Saath Saath Hai (1999), Kal Ho Naa Ho (2003), Mujhse Shaadi Karogi (2004) and Om Shanti Om (2007). He acted in more than 250 films.
