SALT LAKE CITY — A West Jordan man had his prison term suspended and was placed on probation after causing a multi-vehicle crash and attempting to carjack a woman’s vehicle earlier this year.

On March 27, Bernardo Abel Diaz, 29, was driving a Toyota Tundra and ran a red light at 10600 South and Jordan Gateway while driving 20mph over the speed limit, according to court documents.

Dash camera footage provided to KSL showed Diaz crashing into a car in the intersection and hitting another car waiting at the stoplight.
