COLUMBIA, S.C. — Election Day is on the horizon, and the Columbia City Council District 4 election is a three-person race. The election features the incumbent Peter Brown, and the two challengers, Julie Lumpkin and Ashley McCall. I asked each candidate the same questions heading into the election, and here are their responses:
What makes you the ideal candidate for this election?
Answer:
Brown: I think number one, I'm actually in the position. I think that makes me ideal. I also think I've got a pretty interesting background as a business owner, running a global sign manufacturing company. We do work in about 100 countries every year. I've got a good educational background locally, with Cardinal Newman and also went to University of Notre Dame. I've been on pretty much every local boa
