MOUNDSVILLE, W.Va. — Marshall County Assessor Eric Buzzard is in custody after his bond was revoked.

Authorities arrested the embattled assessor Friday after it was determined he had violated a no contact order and reached out to several county employees.

The process to remove Buzzard from office is already underway after criminal charges were filed against him for embezzlement earlier this year. Buzzard is alleged to have embezzled $117,000.

The Marshall County Commission in September submitted the petition for Buzzard’s removal. Judge Jeffrey Cramer on Friday sent the civil case to the state Supreme Court as the next step in the removal process.
