CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- One person has been seriously injured after being hit by a vehicle on Interstate 77, according to the Mecklenburg EMS Agency (Medic).

The incident was first reported just before 10 a.m. on Saturday on I-77 near West Arrowood Road. Medic says its crews took one person to Atrium Carolinas Medical Center with serious injuries.

Authorities have not said what led up to the crash or if any charges are expected.
