Two people were injured early Saturday morning after a vehicle collided with a traffic light pole in Montreal’s Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve borough.
The car was moving “at a high speed” down Notre-Dame St. E, said Montreal police spokesperson Caroline Chèvrefils. “When it reached the intersection of Curatteau St., the car crashed into a traffic light pole.”
Police arrived at the scene around 2:45 a.m., Chèvrefils said, after noticing the collision while on patrol.
Two of the three vehicle’s occupants were transported to hospital, she said.
The driver, a 51-year-old man, suffered injuries to his upper body and a passenger, a 36-year-old woman, suffered injuries to both her upper and lower body, Chèvrefils said. The third passenger, a 35-year-old man, was not injured and did not go to
