The Beltrami Electric Cooperative Trust Board for Operation Round Up recently awarded grants to 26 community organizations and nonprofits totaling $42,011.

The program is made possible by co-op members who voluntarily round up their monthly electric bills to the next dollar, pooling their change to make a difference in the community.

"Every dollar collected stays local and goes directly to nonprofits and community projects," a release noted. "From youth programs to emergency services and healthcare initiatives, Operation Round Up continues to show that small change can make a lasting impact."

A volunteer board of five cooperative members manages the program; Trust Board members include Kay Mack, Miriam Osborn-Doughty, Sharon Hadrava, Marne Waldo and Jean Diffley.
