COLUMBIA, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - The South Carolina Battleground Preservation Trust has released the second volume of the Francis Marion Papers, a collection of Revolutionary War documents bearing the name of one of the war’s most notable figures.

The first volume of the papers, released Feb. 27 in collaboration with the South Carolina American Revolution Sestercentennial Commission (SC250), includes letters written to and from General Francis Marion, otherwise known as Swamp Fox.

Building on the first volume’s foundation, officials said that the second volume presents materials from 1781, the year the Southern Campaign reached its peak and South Carolina saw many of the war’s most consequential engagements.
