EVANSVILLE – Bedford North Lawrence’s Paige Voigtschild advanced to the IHSAA state championship race during the girls cross country regional at Angel Mounds on Saturday.
Voigtschild, who also qualified for the state meet last season, finished 15th overall in 18:57.12. The top five teams, and the top 15 individuals who are not members of qualifying teams, earned tickets to the state finals.
“We’re really happy for Paige, she belongs up there in front,” BNL coach Amy Greenan said. “She went after it, and her effort paid off. She should have a good showing at State next week.”
In the team competition, the Stars were 12th with 354 points. Bloomington South claimed the team crown with 43 points, followed by Floyd Central (80), Columbus North (96), Bloomington North (166) and Edgewood (186)
