A Rayne woman was killed early Saturday when a car struck the bicycle she was riding on U.S. 190 in West Baton Rouge Parish, according to Louisiana State Police.
The bicyclist, 34-year-old Erin Constantin, was wearing dark clothing while riding west in the left lane of U.S. 190 at about 2 a.m. The bicycle did not have front or rear lights, according to a State Police news release. At the same time, a 2024 Hyundai Elantra was also westbound on U.S. 190 near Grand Bayou Road. For reasons still under investigation, the Hyundai struck the rear of the bicycle.
