Srinagar, Oct 25: The Jammu and Kashmir Students Association (JKSA) on Friday appealed to the Social Welfare Department to expedite the disbursal of scholarships under the Special Assistance Scheme for COVID Mortalities (SASCM) and Saksham.
These schemes were launched to support children who lost their parents or earning guardians during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Under the programme, eligible students are entitled to special scholarships aimed at helping them continue their education.
A statement of the JKSA issued here said that despite the passage of a long time, many students were still awaiting the release of their scholarships.
