A jury in Cedar City recently acquitted a 37-year-old man who had been accused of improperly touching a then-16-year-old girl while giving her a ride on his motorcycle in Iron County two years ago.
Theron Allan Rogers was found not guilty of all three counts: two counts of forcible sexual abuse and one count of attempted forcible sexual abuse. The first two charges are classified as second degree felonies, while the third one is a third-degree felony.
After hearing three days’ worth of testimony and arguments and deliberating for approximately four and a half hours, the eight-member jury returned its verdict shortly after 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17.
Fifth District Court Judge Meb Anderson presided over the case.
