A man has been charged with second-degree murder after a fatal shooting in a residential neighbourhood of Burnaby, B.C., in 2021.

The shooting happened near the 6200-block of McKee Street on Feb. 11, 2021, with officers responding just after 10 p.m. PT that day after bystanders heard gunshots and cries for help.

Neal Pratap, 44, was found with multiple gunshot wounds and later died in hospital.

It's believed Pratap was meeting somebody in the area before he was killed.

Now, 27-year-old Liam Reilly has been charged with second-degree murder in the case, which was the second fatal shooting in Burnaby in the preceding nine days.
