Food assistance program CalFresh will have its benefits delayed in November due to the ongoing federal government shutdown , officials said on Friday.
CalFresh , which is known federally as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) or food stamps, provides low-income households with groceries. Although the program is handled by the state, funding for it comes from federal entities, which have been impacted by the ongoing shutdown.
