ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - The No. 7 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets on Saturday took down the Syracuse Orange 41-16 at Bobby Dodd Stadium to advance to 8-0 (5-0 ACC) on the season.
It’s the first 5-0 ACC start in program history for the Yellow Jackets.
Quarterback Haynes King threw for 304 yards and three touchdown passes, while rushing for 91 yards on 12 carries and scoring two rush touchdowns of his own. Running back Malachi Hosley rushed for 81 yards on eight carries.
The Yellow Jackets briefly fell behind 3-0 early, but even Syracuse’s lone points of the first half felt like a missed opportunity. The Orange (3-5, 1-4) had the ball first-and-goal at the 1, but two pre-snap penalties and a sack killed the momentum and forced a field goal attempt.
