Few projects in Tasmania's modern history have divided opinion quite like the proposed Macquarie Point Precinct. To some, it's a visionary investment that will anchor Tasmania's entry into the AFL and revitalise our state's event reputation. To others, it's an indulgent, billion-dollar monument to flawed thinking, suggested as an eventual reality by the AFL Taskforce in its 2019 business case and appropriated as a non-negotiable by a powerful AFL more interested in expansion than community need.
