The International African American Museum is adding a new digital exhibit this month that serves as a testament to the importance of understanding roots.
“ Speaking Truth” will serve as a national archive of more than 50 oral histories of families who have connected their genealogy lines back to times of enslavement, with interviews on what that revelation meant for them.
The exhibit will open on Oct. 28. It can be visited Tuesdays through Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the IAAM ’s Center for Family History. The digital archive collection that visitors will be able to view through touch screens placed throughout the space. Some of it will be accessible online too.
