Srinagar, Oct 25: As winter approaches, the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) has announced that it is fully prepared to tackle the challenges of snow clearance across the city.
Chief Transport Officer (CTO) of SMC, Shahid Asrar, told Rising Kashmir that 43 specially designed 4×4 tractors will be deployed to clear snow from the lanes and bylanes of Srinagar.
“Our priority is always to ensure that roads leading to hospitals, ration ghats, and religious places are cleared first,” Asrar said.
He appealed to residents not to park their vehicles in narrow lanes, which, he said, often hampers the smooth movement of snow clearance machinery. “We urge people in advance to cooperate so that our teams can work efficiently during snowfall,” he added.
