SHEPHERDSVILLE, Ky. —
Bullitt Central High School Vet Tech students spend their weekend taking care of pets with a student-run low-cost vet clinic.
The school’s Career Pathways program prepares students to graduate high school with the proficiency to move forward in the next steps of their career.
As a part of the Animal Science Pathway, the veterinarian technician program leads students on the path to becoming veterinarians.
Teaching the students everything from how to conduct physical exams and administer vaccines to cleaning ears and trimming nails.
To assist the over 15 vet tech students, there were two professional veterinarians and several professional vet techs.
The cost of services ranges from $5 to $20, with the clinic starting at 8 a.m. and running until noon.
