Nearly 5 million pounds of Hormel frozen chicken have been deemed unsafe to eat due to potential contamination with small pieces of metal, according to the Department of Agriculture.
The company announced a recall, affecting 13.9-pound cases of Hormel Fire-Braised All Natural Boneless Chicken Thigh Meat and 13.8-pound cases containing 3-oz. Hormel Fire-Braised Meats All Natural Boneless Chicken Breast.
The product was distributed nationwide to HRI Commercial Food Service locations between February and September.
"This product is only sold to foodservice customers and cannot be purchased directly by consumers," Hormel said in a press release.
