COLUMBUS, Ohio — A runaway emu led Guernsey County sheriff’s deputies on an unusual chase Friday morning after the bird escaped from a property in eastern Ohio.
According to a Facebook post on Oct. 17 from the Guernsey County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to Putney Ridge Road after reports of an emu wandering into traffic and startling passing motorists.
The incident was monitored by dispatchers using cruiser camera live feeds, and body camera video captured deputies attempting to corral the large bird with a catch pole.
