Shadow Resources Minister Susan McDonald has described US President Donald Trump’s comments about Australian Ambassador Kevin Rudd as the “ultimate burn”.
During Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and President Trump's first meeting on Tuesday, the US leader said he wasn’t sure who Mr Rudd was.
The federal opposition has called for Mr Rudd to be dismissed, and raised concerns about whether Mr Rudd has become a barrier to diplomacy in Washington.
“I can't know whether the President knew or didn't know (who Mr Rudd was), but I think it was the ultimate burn,” Ms McDonald told Sky News Sunday Agenda.
