The Coalition has criticised the Albanese government’s proposed environmental laws for not including tougher penalties for activists.
Environment Minister Murray Watt revealed new details of the Albanese government’s plan to create a National Environmental Protection Agency, telling Sky News Sunday Agenda they would fix a system that was “fundamentally broken”.
“What we're trying to do through these reforms is deliver a balanced package that actually delivers real improvements for our natural environment and real improvements for business,” Mr Watt told Sunday Agenda.
But shadow resources minister Susan McDonald said the proposal would harm national prosperity.
