MISSOULA – A pair of C.M. Russell High athletes each earned their second All-State finishes Saturday at the MHSA State Cross-Country Meet at the University of Montana Golf Course.
Emerson Hamma finished eighth in the Class AA boys’ field with a 5K time of 16:12.4. The senior’s finish was not only his best of the season but was his top time this fall by nearly 40 seconds.
Hamma was also All-State (top 15) last season as he earned ninth as a junior on the same course. In the spring, Hamma earned All-State in the 3200 meters as he took fifth.
Stella Damyanovich also earned All-State for head coach Jolyn Kimmet and the Rustlers, taking 10th in the AA girls’ race with a time of 19:18.00, a season-best time. The sophomore was seventh at state in her debut last year.
