A college student says he’s grateful to be alive after a military training plane skidded across a south Oklahoma City highway, missing his car by just a few feet.

“I tried to hit my brakes, but it missed me by like six or seven feet,” he told News 9. “It barely missed me, barely missed me.”

Dash camera video shows the Oklahoma National Guard aircraft crossing SE 119th and Sooner Road on Wednesday, kicking up dirt and debris before coming to rest in a nearby field. Officials said the plane went down during a routine training exercise.
