PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - A 16-year-old boy was arrested on Thursday for a shooting near Centennial High School on Wednesday, Portland police announced on Saturday.
Shortly after 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, officers responded to the area of Southeast 174th Avenue and Southeast Haig Drive , where they found a 19-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound in his torso.
The victim was rushed to the hospital, where he is expected to recover.
Meanwhile, PPB said a school resource officer gave them “critical information,” leading them to a teenage suspect from Portland.
On Thursday, detectives arrested the boy, and said they seized a handgun as evidence:
He was booked into the Donald E. Long Juvenile Detention facility and has been charged with unlawful possession of a firearm.
