PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — Law enforcement agencies across Pinellas County held Operation Medicine Cabinet on Saturday.
The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, Clearwater Police Department, Largo Police Department, Pinellas Park Police Department, Indian Shores Police Department, and St. Petersburg Police Department joined together to host the event, which took place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Citizens were invited to stop at one of nine locations during the designated times to drop off their unused and expired prescription medications for safe collection and disposal, with the exception of biohazards and needles — no questions asked.
According to a release from the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, they managed to collect a total of 687.33 pounds of medication.
