OXFORD, Miss. - A convicted sex offender pleaded not guilty to new federal child sex crime charges Friday.
Lindsey Whiteside appeared in federal court in Oxford, Mississippi, a day after DeSoto County Sheriff Thomas E. Tuggle announced she had been indicted federally on a charge of transporting a minor across state lines to engage in sexual activity. She's been charged federally with two counts of transporting a minor with intent for criminal sexual activity and one count of coercion or enticement of a minor.
The indictment against Whiteside states that she transported a child from Tennessee to Mississippi, and again from Mississippi to Georgia. Those two counts carry a minimum of 10 years in prison if she's found guilty.
