ORONO -- The Maine Black Bears scored a big 35-14 win in their homecoming game vs the Elon University Phoenix on Saturday afternoon.
The Phoenix started with possession and we're driving downfield effectively. But quarterback Landen Clark took a deep shot for the endzone in double coverage and was intercepted by Devin Vaught.
Elon would get the stop and drive well again, this time capitalizing with a rushing score from Jimmyll Williams who broke several tackles on his way to the endzone.
In the second quarter, Black Bears quarterback Carter Peevy helped Maine answer back with a nice pass over the middle ot Jake Kucera who walked in untouched for the score.
After making a nice stop on defense, the Black Bears capped off the first half with a deep touchdown pass to Gianni Rossitto, who
