ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A juvenile is in the hospital after getting shot while breaking into a vehicle, according to police.
Around 2:20 a.m. Friday, Atlanta police responded to the area of 3390 Fairburn Rd SW, where they found a juvenile who had a sustained a gunshot wound to his foot.
During an investigation, the juvenile admitted that he was shot after he had broken into a vehicle, and police later learned that the owner of the vehicle, identified as 51-year-old Yoshay Carter, confronted the juvenile during the break-in and shot him in the foot.
Carter was taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault.
The juvenile was transported to Arthur M. Blank Children’s Hospital for medical treatment.
