A man is in hospital with life-threatening injuries after an early morning single-vehicle crash in South Surrey Saturday (Oct. 25).

Surrey Police responded to a call from Surrey Fire and BCEHS of a single vehicle crash at 1:15 a.m. in the 12900 block of Crescent Road.

Police say the driver of the red pickup truck was trapped after hitting a hydro pole, and Surrey Fire had to extract him. The other two passengers “were able to get out on their own” and sustained no injuries, police say.

SPS Road Safety Section Collision Investigation Unit (CIU) is investigating the crash, and at this time, the cause is unknown.
