No. 25 Michigan defeated Michigan State 31-20 on Saturday at Spartan Stadium for its fourth straight win in the rivalry.

The game featured several hallmarks of a rivalry matchup: 18 combined penalties for 166 yards, a controversial call, memorable touchdown celebrations and some costly mistakes.

Michigan (6-2, 4-1) took over in the third quarter with two touchdowns and came up with two crucial fourth-down stops in the fourth to thwart a comeback attempt from the Spartans (3-5, 0-5).
