Former U.S. Interior Secretary Deb Haaland is on pace to shatter fundraising records in New Mexico in her historic bid to become the first Indigenous woman to serve as governor of any state in the nation.
The same goes for her spending, at least this early in what is turning out to be a costly campaign to become New Mexico's next governor.
Since Haaland officially announced her campaign in February, the presumed Democratic primary frontrunner has raised an impressive $6.9 million from tens of thousands of donors not just in New Mexico but across the country.
Small, out-of-state donors are Haaland's bread and butter. The average donation across the board is $30.89.
