(Alexandria, MN) -- Top-seeded Alexandria flexed its muscle offensively and defensively in a 56-20 victory over Sauk Rapids-Rice Saturday evening in the Section 8AAAAA Semifinals at Viking Bank Field.
Alexandria found the end zone to finish off its first eight possessions in building a 56-6 lead after three periods. Complementary football was displayed by the Cardinals, who ran for nearly 270 yards and passed for more than 200 yards.
Senior running back Brody Berg averaged roughly nine yards per carry, finishing with close to 170 rushing yards. He scored on runs of 13 and 10 yards in the opening half.
