A 29-year-old government doctor in Satara committed suicide after being caught in a fierce, months-long standoff with the Phaltan local police and facing alleged pressure from a Member of Parliament (MP) . Documents reveal the doctor, who worked at the Phaltan Sub-District Hospital, had filed numerous complaints since June 2025, accusing multiple police officers of harassment and pressuring her to falsify medical fitness and post-mortem reports for arrested individuals.
