A year ago, Robinson Chirinos was managing in the Liga Mayor de Béisbol, a relatively new summer league in his hometown, Venezuela. A few months later, many people in the industry believe that he will be a manager in the big leagues at some point.

2024 was a busy year for the former catcher. He worked in the Liga Mayor, then was hired in the Navegantes del Magallanes front office during the past season of the Venezuelan Winter League. He also traveled with Omar López to Mexico and Japan for the 2024 Premier12 as a bench coach, and while he was in Mexico, he got a call informing him that he was hired as the Baltimore Orioles’ bench coach.
