The Coachella Valley High football team made what seemed inevitable official Friday night as they defeated Twentynine Palms 28-0 and clinched a playoff spot and the top seed coming out of the Desert Valley League.
The Arabs rode a defense that caused multiple turnovers and the first career start for a sophomore QB and pulled away in the second half for the win.
Ivan Camargo had a big night with 282 yards n 29 carries with two rushing touchdowns, Roger Perez also ran one in and Carlos Mendoza caught a touchdown pass from Xzavier Hernandez, who was starting in place of Ivan Garza who was banged up at the end of the previous game.
Angel Diaz and Julian Rodriguez both had interceptions for the defense.
The Arabs are now 2-0 in the DVL and have clinched at least a share of the league title.
