Athletes of all ages laced up their running shoes, pinned on their race bibs, and took to the streets of Burnie for the city's iconic road race event on Sunday.

Thousands of runners crossed the finish line at the 41 st edition of the Burnie 10 on October 26.

The sun was shining, and the weather conditions were perfect for runners to take on the challenge and enjoy the coastal views of the course.

South Australian runner Adam Goddard took out the men's title in the 10-kilometre race with a nail-biting finish against Edward Marks.

Goddard claimed the victory with a time of 28:36.

Leanne Pompeani claimed a back-to-back title as the first female to cross the finish line.

Pompeani finished the race with a time of 31:46, just 0.6 seconds outside the female course record of 31:40, which
