Leaf peeping is reaching its peak, offering a kaleidoscope of colours dotting our surrounding landscape. And the farm stands seem to mimic fall’s palette brimming with green and rusty-red pears, rosy apples, squash and pumpkins in all sorts of hues, shapes and sizes. Technically a fruit, the pumpkin is a winter squash in the Cucurbitaceae family – that includes cucumbers and melons – boasting over 45 varieties.
