Hastings College rode the hot shooting of sophomore Josilyn Miller on the way to an 89-66 win in the Bronco women’s basketball squad's season opener.

Miller scored a game-high 19 points in Friday’s contest at Lynn Farrell Arena. The game marked her return to the hardcourt after sitting out all but three of last season’s games due to a knee injury.

She drew the praise of her coach, not only for the 19-point effort against the Comets, but also for her rehab and recovery from knee surgery.

“She has fought her way back and did everything she possibly could in rehab. It was really great to see her out there and see her play so well. Super happy for her just to get to this point,” HC coach Jina Douglas said about Miller.
