New Delhi: Direct air connectivity between India and China is set to resume on Saturday after a gap of nearly five years. The first flight which is operated by IndiGo between Kolkata and Guangzhou is scheduled to take off at 10 pm tonight.
The resumption of services comes after its prolonged suspension following the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and the subsequent border tensions in eastern Ladakh. Both sides have called it a “positive move.”

India had announced on October 2 that direct flights to China would restart from October 26.
