A woman was killed and her body abandoned in a discarded auto-rickshaw just yards from a police station in Bengaluru on Friday.

The murder was discovered Saturday evening when passersby noticed the body and alerted authorities. The police have shifted the body for a post-mortem examination.

The victim, identified as Salma, 35, was a widowed domestic worker living with her four children. “Investigations revealed she had been in a relationship with one Subramani, a garment factory employee. Her children reported seeing her leave with Subramani late Friday night,” said a police officer.
