In a visit aimed at providing strategic direction and political impetus to the ongoing negotiations between India and the European Union (EU) for a potential Free Trade Agreement (FTA), India's Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal is slated to visit Brussels, Belgium, on October 27 and 28 to hold high-level discussions with the EU's Executive Vice-President and Trade Commissioner, Maroš Šefčovič.

India's Ministry of Commerce and Industry has described the proposed visit, coming at a crucial stage in the India-EU FTA negotiations, as timely, as both sides intensify efforts to conclude a comprehensive, balanced, and mutually beneficial trade agreement at the earliest.
