EAST LANSING — When the East Lansing football team found itself sitting at 1-5 following a 57-14 loss to Davison in Week 6, junior running back Baylor Schanski and teammates knew something had to change.
And that started with themselves.
"We knew we had a good team," Schanski said. "We knew we still had a chance (at the playoffs). We had to put in the work. We had to put in more work to get to where we want to be."
Schanski said the Trojans worked on improving their attitudes and practice habits.
And getting better in those areas and continuing its growth has helped East Lansing get to its desired destination — the MHSAA state playoffs.
The Trojans (4-5) ended the regular season on a three-game winning streak following that Week 6 loss, with a 28-14 victory over Holt on Friday, Oct. 2
