EAST LANSING – Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore stressed last Monday how important discipline and composure would be for Saturday’s rivalry game against Michigan State.
The 25th-ranked Wolverines won the game and the penalty battle at Spartan Stadium. They had six penalties for 61 yards in a 31-20 victory, while MSU was flagged 12 times for 105 yards.
“Can I just add how proud I am of our players of not responding to a lot of that,” Moore said postgame. “Because 12 is a lot. It could have been easy for (his players) to (retaliate). That was an emphasis all week, of wanting to play clean football, wanting to play disciplined football. I want to strain for 60 minutes within the whistles.
