Burl wood, a material used for centuries to make furniture, rose to prominence during the Art Deco period in the 1920s-30s, and later became popular again during the heyday of mid-century modern furniture. We spoke to a few designers to get their take on burl wood—how they use it, why they love it, and how to style it in your own home.
