Over a century ago, a woman named Cora White opened her Biloxi home to travelers making their way along the Mississippi Coast.

Her hospitality proved so popular that within a few years, she and her husband, a local judge, bought neighboring properties, expanding the retreat into several houses along Beach Boulevard. Today, under new ownership, the White House Hotel continues to evolve, drawing visitors from across the Gulf Coast and beyond.

This month, as thousands flocked to the Mississippi Coast for the annual classic car show Cruisin' the Coast, the hotel unveiled a new wing with 49 additional guest rooms, bringing the total to 123.

The expansion reflects a broader shift in tourism along the Mississippi Coast, a longtime getaway among regional travelers that, in recent years, has b
