Once the undisputed king of men’s college basketball leagues, the Atlantic Coast Conference is desperate to regain that lofty perch — reformatting its league schedule at the expense of traditional rivalries and incentivizing success and exposure in search of more NCAA Tournament bids.

Ultimate success will be measured in berths and seeds on Selection Sunday, but the first opportunities for the ACC to shed its label as a fallen league will start next week when the regular season tips off.
