CHESTER COUNTY, Pa. —
One person is dead and six others were injured after a mass shooting at Lincoln University in the southeastern part of Pennsylvania.
Officials say gunfire erupted Saturday night during outdoor festivities for the university's homecoming celebration. Advertisement
Chester County District Attorney Christopher de Barrena-Sarobe says one person, who had a gun, was detained.
"We are operating as if this is not an incident where someone came in with the design to inflict mass damage on a college campus. We're collecting ballistic evidence and going through that evidence now," said de Barrena-Sarobe during a press conference late Saturday night.
It is still unclear what led up to the shooting.
The university was placed on lockdown, but it has since been lifted.
