Syracuse, N.Y. — As syracuse.com’s Chris Carlson wrote after Syracuse’s loss to Duke, 2025 has become about the future for the Orange. The first step to that has been the development of redshirt sophomore quarterback Rickie Collins.
Collins completed his first start without an interception in Saturday’s 41-16 loss at No. 7 Georgia Tech. He made it a point to keep the football out of harm’s way in what was his best game this season.
He wasn’t perfect, though. Collins still completed just 59% of his passes and lost a fumble. But it was a step in the right direction as Syracuse prepares to welcome North Carolina to the JMA Wireless Dome in a battle of rebuilding ACC programs.
